The core component (resistor) of the metal oxide arrester uses a zinc oxide-based formula, which has very nonlinear (volt-ampere) characteristics, that is, under normal operating voltage, the current passing through is only microamperes. level, when encountering overvoltage, the passing current instantly reaches thousands of amperes, causing the arrester to be in a conducting state and releasing the overvoltage energy, thus effectively limiting the damage of overvoltage to power transmission and transformation equipment.
Traditional silicon carbide arresters have shortcomings such as high steep wave discharge voltage caused by steep wave discharge delay and high operating wave discharge voltage caused by large operating wave discharge dispersion. Zinc oxide arresters have good steep wave response characteristics, no delay to steep wave voltage, low operating residual voltage, and no discharge dispersion. The protection margin under steep waves and operating waves is greatly improved, and in terms of insulation coordination, the protection margins under steep waves, lightning waves and operating waves can be nearly consistent, thereby providing high-quality protection for power equipment. Composite jacketed metal oxide arrester adopts integral injection molding and two-end encapsulation process. It has good sealing performance and explosion-proof performance.
